There not enough room for the flexible ducting to connect without being twisted up due to about 9 inch difference between the two. Guess I will go shopping for platform to raise the dryer with the outdoor vent so the air flow will be unrestricted. have very little room to move the dryer out.
IMO this is a fire hazard and placement of dryer restricts air flow do to the closeness and the twisting of the flexible ducting.
Something you might want to check if you have this style CYV/design where the dryer placement is directly inline with vent and twisting of the flexible ducting occurred. Or If you never cleaned out the vent. Closed off dryer vent filled with lint creates heat and airflow restriction and should be cleaned out periodically. beings my villa about 12 years old I will also be pulling out the refrigerator blowing the dust from the condenser cooling coils and the cooking stove cleaning behind it.

I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ONE COMMENT. THOSE DRYER VENTS THAT ARE ERECTED THRU THE ROOF NEED CLEANING AT THE TOP END AT LEAST ONCE YEARLY. I AM AMAZED HOW MUCH LINT i REMOVE EVERY TIME I CLEAN THE UPPER PORTION.
