The story relates he is a 'fugitive from justice' so he is likely going to be sent back to SD for trial or whatever awaits him there. The impression I got from the news release was a complaint was filed against him but that he had not been convicted.
BTW I have held a RE broker's license in the state of New Mexico since 1976. The last time renewed, a couple of years ago, for the very first time I had to be fingerprinted and pay for a criminal background check. That is the way it is nowadays. What a world it has become!
