Thanks, I think you're correct to answer "yes" because not everyone who has a gene associated with a certain disease gets the disease. It's only an association. There's no proof that genes alone cause any of the diseases I mentioned.
It's strange to think that a gene for some disease sits in one's body for 50, 60 or more years waiting to give you some particular disease, like a time release capsule waiting to go off. Suddenly, the gene looks at its blueprint for disease and thinks, "Okay, 60 years has gone by, I think it's time for this disease - ready, get set, go!!!!!!"
