What do people ask when they meet someone for the first time? Answer: Where are you from?
How many times would you guess that question has been asked? One hundred thousand times? One million times? 10 million times? More?
And what do people think when they hear the answer? What associations come to mind?
Let's say you are from Alabama and the person says, "I'm from California." Or you are from California and the other person says, "I'm from Alabama."
There must be some association that the mind immediately makes. What is it?
The politically correct response to this thread is: It doesn't matter.
If it doesn't matter, why ask the question?
What question typically comes next after you find out your place of origin has nothing in common with the other person.
