We have both a Shark and an Oreck. Shark makes more than two models, as does Oreck. Both of them are excellent on bare floors. They both will glide over bare floors with ease.
However, if you have pets, the Shark is terrible with pet hair. No problem whatsoever with the Oreck. We really like them both and use both of them.
