There are people who don't know what the market is going to do.

There are people who don't know that they don't know what the market is going to do.

And there are people who don't know what the market is going to do, but whose livelihood depends on convincing the public that they do know what the market is going to do, and charge you handsomely for that ruse.

But let me say, if you just know that you won't take the time to do your own analysis (and trust me, it doesn't take that much time to pick out some good index funds) then by all means pay someone to do it for you.
