I am a member of MVP for the last year and although some people may flinch at $600 per year, plus tax, I feel it is worth it, for all you get. I go to the Spanish Springs facility, and from 8 AM to noon, they have a fast cycle for the weight machines, where they set-up up all of the machines for you. I go through twice, in less than 30 minutes.

Plenty of treadmills, cross trainers, bicycles etc...... They also have classes that I do not go to. People are friendly and it is a pleasant experience. I like the steam room in addition to the showers and the view overlooking SS, is great. Keeps one amused with people watching if you forget your headphones. They have lockers to store your valuables under lock and key.

I could save money by going to Anytime Fitness but they don't have a place to store one's valuables safely. Their staff sometimes is not on the premises. If one decided to go late at night and their were no other people in the place, who would would call for help, if one got ill? That seems to bother me. I personally don't feel comfortable in their setting, but that's just me.

Sometimes going for a work-out becomes "mind over matter". If you don't mind it don't matter. Going to a pleasant place is enough incentive to defray the difference in cost. They are some things in life not worth cutting corners over, and I take my health, too seriously. I'd rather give it to MVP than the doctors.

You can save money by ascertaining your dedication level to fitness. If one is not going to go to a facility frequently, save your money and find other activities. Anything to raise your heart level for 30 minutes, is a good thing.
