Your post sounds like one of many where the customer is coming in the back door and putting the blame on the server. Sorry, but regardless of what you said in your post, it isn't so cut and dry. The customer read the menu and knew asparagus didn't come with that particular order.

There ain't no free lunch with asparagus when it's ordered as a different side. Come on -- who are you kidding. The customer thought they got away with something and didn't. The truth of the matter is they were P.O.d, not surprised!
