My understanding, last time we had this rash of burglaries and the police were around here, the problem IS the frame. The pressure on the door, sidelights or panels or not, allows the frame to push out. I was advised to get that bar that goes up under the doorknob and down to the floor by the police. They say without the oomph (for lack of a more intelligent word I can't think of) of the door pushing in, the frame will remain steady. I showed it to the police yesterday and they concurred. We have been using that bar faithfully and have flip-up locks for each slider, also suggested by the police. We are hoping we never lose power tho, when we're out, because we'll never be able to get back in if the garage door fails. Guess we'll just have to break the window in the garage. Which poses another ???...why don't these houses have side garage doors??
