Humana is defintely not United. United Health Care is sponsored through AARP. The Daily Sun advertizes that only those carrying AARP;s United Health Care get priority meaning that unless you have United Health you probably won't be able to use The Villages Health Centers. The paper advertises same day appointments for United health members.
Frankly I believe it is a discriminatory practice but that is what is taking place in the health market today. In fact via ACA Medicare & Medicaid's rules, the payer ( government.insurance company) are literally forcing doctors out of their independent practices and pushing them to join ACO. Essentially this is also a conflict of interest because doctors will eventually have to comply with what the s contracts call for between the ACO and the government or insurance company. So if for instance a doctor sees a need for a lab procedure but the payer does not then the patient is going to get short changed
Like it or not ACA is changing the health market and most patients are going to pay more and get less care. It will be the rich who can afford private care that will not be affected...and oh senators congressmen and women and their staffs
