Default Loonies and Toonies January Meeting

LOONIES AND TOONIES JANUARY MEETING FOR CANADIAN FRIENDS

Our first meeting of 2015 will be at La Hacienda, Carmen Miranda Room, on Wednesday January 14, 2015.
The meeting starts at 6:30 PM. Please bring your Member Badge and snacks/beverages.
Doors open at 5:30 PM and new members are always welcome!

We continue our tradition of supporting the Wildwood Food Bank with donations of non-expired non-perishable food items.
We also support The Shepherd’s Lighthouse so please consider bringing any used clothing or household items for donation.

Our very special guest speaker this month is George Erickson, a villages resident, who has spent parts of 38 summers exploring northern Quebec, Nunavut, the Yukon and NW Territories and Alaska with a variety of floatplanes and amphibians.
His adventures led to his first book, True North: Exploring the Great Wilderness by Bush Plane, which is in its 4th printing – also an eBook - in the US and Canada, where it spent three months on Canada’s Coast to Coast best seller list.
His second book, Time Traveling with Science and the Saints - an overview of the long conflict between science and religion - soon followed, and his third book, Back to the Barrens: On the Wing with da Vinci & Friends, his much-requested sequel to True North, arrived in 2008.
True North and Back to the Barrens both carry the endorsement of multi-million-copy-author Clive Cussler.

Just Mike will provide music for the social/dancing part of the evening.

Signups will continue for our 5th annual Golf Tournament on March 9, as well as for the Maple Leaf Hockey Game on March 2 in Tampa and the Blue Jays Baseball Game at Disney World on March 30. We have spaces left but they are going fast so please do not wait too long and be disappointed.

Lionel Mantha [one of our members] will also be on hand for a sign up and information for a weekly Canada Golf Day out of the Villages that he will be organizing– you can also contact Lionel at lionelgmantha@gmail.com and let him know if you are interested as a single or a couple and which days would work for you as well as any course recommendations you might have.

Best wishes
Pat Irving and Dave Horsman
Your Executive Members
