I'm a little bit at a loss about the treatment that your wife is receiving for macular degeneration.
My friend Barbara was diagnosed with wet macular degeneration over a year ago by the Tampa Eye Clinic and they started her on a regimen of quarterly shots directly into the eye, along with vitamins. The goal was to halt the degeneration, with the understanding that it seldom improves. However, in her case it
did improve slightly.
When it became unwieldy for her to go to Tampa for the shots she received a recommendation to go to Dr. Michael Tolentino in The Villages for future treatment. She was told that
he was one of the pioneers who developed the process of giving the injections directly into the eye.
