Yes, Lesco's classic palm fertilizer and other 8-2-12 are recommended for palm trees and will work nicely for ornamentals as well. But it is significantly more expensive than similar formulations that one can purchase at box stores, so that is up to the spender.

The blooms from spring and summer fade in fall and should be cut back if you are going to prune. Fertilizing in winter is not recommended. Wait for spring.
