2004 Yamaha reverse beeper
Does anyone know where the beeper is located on a 2004 Yamaha? Mine quit working and I have a new one for replacement, but I don't know where to find the bad beeper. THANKS for your help.

I wish I could...
I would love to help, but I have never worked on a Yamaha .
One option is to go to a site like: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ Look under the stickies for your cart. They typically will have some wiring diagrams. |

I looked at the wiring diagram for our Yamaha but it is only a schematic - it doesn't indicate where the alarm/buzzer is located. I believe the wiring harness for it runs off the backside of the forward/reverse lever so potentially the alarm's located close to that. The only other probable location would be underneath the cup holders.
Another way to find it: Locate a neighbor/friend who has a Yamaha cart of similar vintage. Have them put theirs in reverse (while the key's off - yes, the alarm will come on ) and hunt for where the sound's coming from. Also, it might be worth a quick call to either the Villages Golf Car Store or Carts and Clubs (in Ocala) to see if one of their service techs can give you the quick answer. Hope all that gets you to the answer you're looking for! Bill |

Yes
Under the Cup Holder. Grab the (4) cup holder and lift straight up.

I've got a 2005 Yamaha Electric and back-up beeper is under floorboard behind the front axle area. Would need a lift to get to it... wish I could as it is way too noisy for me.

Your response makes sense, since mine quit working after driving in a real hard and prolonged rain storm. Thanks to everyone for your help, I'll look in both places. These forums are the best place to get answers.
