Cart had annual service about 2 months ago. I only use premium gas from the Villages. Always filled at Spanish Springs (never a problem). A few days ago filled at Lake Sumter (when the problem started) I suspect fuel. So I’d rather not spend a lot of money with a repair if it maybe something simple.

I am thinking "dirty fuel injector". Are “FUEL INJECTOR CLEANERS" safe for Golf Carts ?
Perhaps I am barking up the wrong tree ? Appreciate any good suggestions.
Thanks.

Give us a call and we will be happy to check your battery for you at your house and help determine what is going on with your car. Also, if you fill out the form below, someone from our service team will reach out and let you know if you have any recalls on your car

The replacement can be tricky on some of the carts, later model Yamaha carts have a sound barrier that needs to be loosened to get the old batter out and needs to be held out of the way to install the new battery.
Here is a video that shows how replace the battery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Dl7y4kjKiA
I just did mine today and it is a pain. Pulled the old one out and took it to Advanced Auto on 44 and they tested it. It was dead. I got a Gold Die Hard (3 year warranty) for $239.00. The Silver was less $ but had a 2 year warranty. The battery that was in the cart when purchased had no information on it other than 12 V. The battery I got is a group 24 battery

Dam, $239 for decent group 24 battery, and we are being told inflation is under control. The good news is that when Costco opens we should be able to get a decent group 24 interstate battery for about half that price. And yes, changing the battery on a quiet tech is a pain. It takes about 5 minutes on our 2014 Yamaha and about an hour on the much newer quiet tech. I guess that’s the price of the noise dampening technology?

If really want know status batteries get one of these or similar. Check batteries in or out of vehicle. At end or test it will determine good or bad battery.

Please let us know if you need help with battery install we are happy to help. Our mobile truck keeps batteries on the truck and ready to go.
The battery is only 1/2 the system. Yes batteries go bad under regular use 4-5 years if not used all the time that is more like 2-3. Keep in mind if you have lots of items attached to the key switch like headlights or other accessories you likely have issues with overcharging. It increases the voltage drop on the charge wire reducing the excite voltage causing the generator to overcharge the battery and shortens the usable battery life by 1/2. Many people have talked about this issue and it’s an easy fix.
As a Yamaha Dealer working in TV but located just south we do battery installs for less than what you paid for that battery. And we do all the work in your driveway.

Not only very good advice, but it’s also coming from a reputable Yamaha dealer. I know because we bought our 2022 Quiet Tech from them and are very happy with our decision.

It takes less than 15 minutes to change the battery on a new Yamaha. Just loosen the battery firewall bolts and tilt it over. Maybe if you aren’t a handyman it takes longer?
