I have a 2 seater with a fold down seat in the back. Passengers face the opposite direction. Have used it once or twice for 4 people but use it with the back seat folded down which gives be a lot of room for hauling items. I have a wooden square frame on the back.

Agree. Those long four seater carts should park like cars do; parallel to the curb.
