Default Atomic golf cart

We are looking for small a vehicle to tool around The Villages. Anybody own one of the Atomic electric vehicles being sold in Wildwood? What comments, opinions do you have? Did you spend the extra money for the Lithium battery and was it worth it? Is there a club here in The Villages for this type of vehicle?

TIA

Yes, I have had 2 of them. Basically it's our 2nd car. Still have one. Our is "street legal" which is optional. If you have any questions please PM.

OP, be sure you are aware of limitations on where you can drive these vehicles, insurance requirements, and whether it is a "golf" cart or a Low Speed Vehicle. I would normallt advise, but I have found this so confusing I gave up.

Maybe they'll let you try a "loner" for a day or two. Nice concept, but if you are a "big" person, you might feel a bit claustrophobic in one.
Also, I think it would be a PITA on the golf course - open the door, get out, hit your shot, get in, close the door, etc. Maybe no problem for you, but I would find that annoying. A standard golf cart with no doors makes more sense to me.

There is nothing to be confused about. While it doesn't LOOK LIKE your everyday golf cart it's a GOLF CART. If you want to be street legal and go through all the expense of that they up the speed to 25 and it becomes an LSV and can STILL go on the golf courses per the VCCD attorneys. I know of MANY who take them on the golf courses both SL and not with the proper turf tires vs. street tires (I don't play golf). They have bag attachments you can add to the back. It's no less of a golf cart than some of those weird looking custom ones you see around (and cost a LOT less) and are air-conditioned and heated. Insurance is the same as a Yamama golf cart as long as speed is <cough cough> certified to NOT EXCEED 20mph like every other golf cart running around TV does not exceed 20mph. My insurance was $60 before I made it an LSV.

That's why pants come in different sizes and paint comes in millions of colors. The air conditioning can make up for some of the inconveniences you mention which does have some relevance as is the fun of watching all those in "real" golf carts go scrambling to roll down their sides and snap them and trying to wipe of their windows when it pours to see when all you have to do is roll up the power windows and turn on the wipers! Oh, and they are much safer. (yea, you can get killed on a bicycle and a Yamama as well if you cross a highway where you shouldn't be and get t-boned by a truck).

DEFINITELY should try one first though and one shouldn't knock it until they try it.

The problem I see for golfers is opening doors for every shot.

We have an Atomic Zipper. The vehicle is great. It has the lithium batteries. Very long range. It is for sale now at a significant saving over a new one. I have it listed on Talk of the Villages Classifieds. Check it out.

I have a 2015 GEM CAR for sale $5995.00. Not exactly a small cart but a great multi purpose street legal LSV/NEV. Can also be used as a non-street legal vehicle. The following is the link to Craig's list ad.

Wouldn't this be the same for any electric golf cart? That is another dimension to this decision. We choose electric for many reasons over gas. The worry for most people is range. Fully charged, the range for our Club Car is "at least" 60 miles.
