Easy Go Electric .... great pick up and performance and a used electric motor has decades of use.

I had a very prominent odor of gas in the garage. I thought something was wrong with the loaner cart. I opened the garage door to air it out for about 2 minutes then closed the door. No more smell.

Another time, I had a 2017 Yamaha gas cart as a loaner, same thing happened. I put the cart in the garage and there was an obnoxious smell of gas. After opening the garage door to air out the garage, the smell dissipated and did not return.

Honestly.....I would not want to have to allow the gas smell to air out before closing my garage door every time I park the cart in the garage.

I LOVE my Yamaha 2016 electric cart.

That was the problem we had with the new 2017 I had for Dad. ALWAYS smelled bad. We took it back to TV carts several times and they always said it was ok...not.... So I sold that cart. My 2012 doesn't smell compared to the 2017. Just got Dad a 2011 Yamaha electric for this season.

Seats make the best ride - if you want comfort you’ll have to spend the money to get the best seats or find a used someone else outfitted with the good ones. Best drive that’s subjective but ez go makes a great electric cart - the newer carts have DC Motors - it’s all about the motor and number of batteries. People selling electric used carts are most likely selling because they need batteries and that’s about 1000 bucks. Test drive them you’ll know which one to buy. Good luck

Hands down, the Atomic Cool Cart. They are located just south of Brownwood across 44. This is a totally different vehicle that has power steering, power brakes, power windows, and Air Conditioning just to name a few of the countless benefits. It is light years better than any other electric golf cart.

As far as ride, I personally don't think anyone can really say one rides better than there's. I think the key is, by the better seats for a better ride. I prefer gas only because the 17 & 2018 are just as quiet as the electric, almost. The new Gas carts go 260 mi. on a tank of gas, can't speak for the electric carts, gas carts you only have to put 5 gal. of gas in for about 6 to $8. electric carts you charge them every 50 or 60 mi. & in 5 or 6 yrs. you get to spend $1,000. to $1,200. for batteries. Don't take me wrong they both have their advantages. Now the last thing, go to Webster, FL. a half hr. from here to the Stihl hardware they sell carts, you can save $2,000. on a basic cart & then you add your options. I'm buying a new one there with trade in on my 2013 for $6,600. & that's with about $500. worth of options. (I told them I would like to get $4,500. for my 2013, which has 24,000 miles on it, they offered me $5,560. more money) Go check it out you have nothing to lose but to save money there. They're not high pressured either. Good luck, I hope I helped!

EZ GO hands down, it has an A/C electric motor, doesn't slow down going up hill and doesn't slow down when battery starts getting low. Longer range than other electrics...our is 5 years old and just now replacing batteries...Gas carts all stink and make noise, I don't care what they tell you just follow them in the tunnels,,,,Villages is now selling the EZGO electric what does that tell you

justjim 11-06-2017 09:37 AM

Electric or gas comes down to personal preference. Electric I would go with EZGO and gas with the new quite Yamaha. For comfort the best seats you can find. They make a difference.

Par car beats them all. With seat belts of course.

Club Cars are the best. We've had several models and the best-running and best made are the Club Cars.

Here is a picture of the golfcart that I use. It is a 2002 Yamaha Gas fourseater that we bought used and still doin' fine dragging us around. Husband has a newer model gas golfcart. He had an electric one first.

I am considering selling my 2015 Columbia Par Car. It is electric very clean and in excellent condition. 103 hrs clocked on the 8 - 6 volt batteries.

I went shopping for a new cart myself several months ago. Streetrod ( who had "no skin in the game") recommended ez go if I prefer electric I DO.

Villages "push" gas carts. I drove one for a day to confirm I prefer electric. my preference is to purchase what I want, rather than the "best deal" you will ENJOY whatever time we have left on this earth !!!!! do what YOU want, not what a salesperson thinks is best for you.

The op bought a cart

Why?

Club Car--one finger turning! I have been told by five cart guys--4 mechanics, 1 battery replacement guy--NOT to see my 2003 Club Car. They all said that and went on to tell me why; the years 2000 through 2--5 were the best years for limited repairs.

I won two 2003 carts. I get Willie to come and check them every six months--$100 a year. So . . . get a used Club Car.

Lee Stroud, do you mean 2000 to 2002 are the best years, or 2000 to 2005, or 2002 to 2005?

Just curious, as I'm just starting to hunt.

Can you get antique plates for that? (1911)

Get a gas cart- batteries are $$$ costly get a upgraded seat- get the larger tires, get a 2017 yamaha fuel injected cart with independent rear suspension, 2017 also has more insulation, and different muffler system--- now you have a quiet gas cart, that is comfortable to drive. You have great ride ,and great handeling. This is all based on a golf cart , not a sports car

Had the 2017 Yamaha gas cart last year. Mom and Dad complained about the gas smell every time they went for a ride. We tried everything to eliminate the smell, including taking it back to the shop. Such a shame because it did ride nice.

2017 has no tailpipe but it would have been nice to have an exhaust out the back.
