If you’re going to enclose the golf cart, get a small car.

We don't have any soft or hard sides on our golf cart. Remember our rainy season is 3 months of the year. If it's raining or rain looks likely, we don't use the cart. Admittedly, the pros and cons of no sides would be different for golfers. Even then, by the time you unzip and unsnap the roll-down sides you are already soaked!
