I bring our electric cart in for routine maintenance on an annual basis. I honestly don't do any of the other things you listed in the interim except filling the batteries with water.

i had my cart service by one of the big dealers and 2 weeks later it needed water in the batterys . so i do my own service work now . all they did was check tire pressure, water level , rear oil and take it for a ride all for $90, i think I'm the one who was taken for a ride.

I'm sorry, I can't speak about electric carts. Perhaps some electric cart DIYs can answer your questions.

Do any of these maintenance items have to be done on an electric cart? If not, what type of maintenance has to be done on an electric cart other than adding water to the batteries? Our cart has some type of auto refill system so it is very easy to add the water and not over fill the system.

Until people walk into the Villages Golf Cart stores and tell them " you agree to service the cart within two or three weeks of my call in writing as a condition to buying a cart from you " nothing is likely to change. We've bought two carts from them and now have little recourse but to listen to excuses when it comes to scheduling service. New " Villagers " , it is probably up to you if there are to be any changes.

Great idea!

However, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that they will never do that and given their monopoly within TV...don't really care if you buy somewhere else.

I suggest you either read previous posts or look for him under search button (above). His number has been given numerous times.

There are essentially two levels of service: preventive maintenance (or some sort of upgrade) on an operative cart and repair for an inoperative cart. The former can wait for an appointment. For the latter, they will probably give you a free loaner.

Thats why I did not buy from them. Bought from Carts And Clubs - Ocala...They come to your home and it has always been in a reasonable time frame.......

Same here. We’ve also bought 2 from C&C and they’ve always been really quick in scheduling service for us.

I keep hearing the Village Cart commercial that states “cheaper isn’t always better”; buying a cheaper, with more options, cart fromCarts and Clubs is definitely better.
