Default Golf cart wheel size

Can anyone educate me as to what is the difference between 10 and 12 inch wheels? Any pros or cons one or the other?

P.S. Please I know the answer is 2 inches, but I need more of an answer if you know.

Thanks!

Default I have never had a cart with 12 inch wheels

I have never had a cart that had 12 inch wheels. I will have to answer the question using 8 inch versus 10 inch wheels.

On my carts I always put 10 inch wheels (instead of 8 inch) on the back to gain a little bit of speed. The circumference change adds about 1.5 to 2 MPH to my cart's speed on the flats. On two of carts I have owned, I could not fit a 10 inch wheel on the front with high profile tires, so I only did the back.

In general, the bigger wheel and tire installed on the back will add a bit of speed at the cost of torque (for me the torque loss is negligible).

There may be other issues when considering a 10 inch high profile tire versus a 12 inch low profile which I have zero experience.

If that was not what you are asking, sorry.... but hate to see you hangin'

They look a lot nicer (subjective) but may ride a little firmer due to tire pressure more than anything. My cart has 14" wheels and it rides as nice as any. Golf carts don't go fast enough to get any performance benefits from larger diameter wheels. It's all bling

The low profile 10 inch wheels have more rubber than the low profile 12 inch wheels.
The 10 will give a better ride. Both wheels will have a nominal same wheel circumference.

I understand there are problems with 12" wheels so be careful who you buy them from.

IMO it' about the outside diameter of the wheel. you can have 12" rims with low profile which maybe the same as 10" rims with regular tires or 10" rims with low profile tires close to the same as 8" rims with regular tires. AS said about the taller the tires the more speed, less torque and in some cases more tippy it makes the cart. IMO the best combinations would be wide tire, more grip and less tippy. IF I wanted faster cart then taller tire would eek out couple MPH at the cost of low speed torque.

They look very nice, did you get them locally ? If so where ? What size are the tires ? Did you have to do a lift kit ?
