This is a drive we did on the cart path from Hawkins to Orange Blossom Golf Course. It was 21 miles each way. Not something you would do all the time but over 50 miles is possible after the turnpike bridge is open.

I'll answer the question you asked based solely on my experience. We live near Mulberry up by 42. I don't think we have put 50 on a cart in a single day, even when just going out and exploring. In fact, the longest drive we've taken is the double-bridge loop where we left our house and drove down to Rohan, crossed the Chitty Chatty bridge, went all the way down to Meggison, took that up to, and crossed the Brownwood bridge, continued north up the Buena Vista trail, made a stop along 466 and at Glenview, and then returned home. All told, that trip was 41 miles.

Once the Water Lily bridge opens, and then the Southern Oaks bridge, the opportunity to drive more than 50 miles becomes greater as it will be a heck of a hike for us to cart to the new Southern Oaks championship course, or even to cart to Red/Gray Fox, because of the cart path routing. While it is then possible for a 50+ mile trip, is that something we would do? Sure, occasionally. On a regular basis, certainly not, since there are plenty of courses to play and other amenities to use much closer to home.

Yes, we have driven over 50 miles in one day on several occasions. One of our favorite things to do in The Villages is ride in the golf cart. We have we usually stop to watch Gators, eat, watch softball, go to polo field for event, walk trails, etc. We have several stops and have enjoyable day. We pull over to let others pass because we usually travel at 18mph. We enjoy seeing all that's going on in The Villages by golf cart.

From the historic district it's more like 13-14 miles to Brownwood.

Let's sat that I got to play eighteen holes at Belle Glade and have lunch at Brownwood afterward. It's 28 miles round trip to Brownwood and about five miles to drive 18 holes. That's 32 miles. So I'd have to go do some shopping or go to a rec center or something after lunch to get to 50 miles. It can be done but it's unlikely.

I've gone on long trips in the morning and then went out to the squares or dinner later on, but I came home first so my cart was plugged in.

I've had a Club Car Electric for 6 years, here is what I found with new batteries from Country Club Hills:
First year you can go to Brownwood and tool around there for a while and make it back home no problem.
Second Year you can go to Brownwood and make it back, IF you don't go anywhere else.
Third year you can make to Brownwood, but not back.
Fourth year you'll never make to Brownwood.
Fifth year you need new batteries.

I live in Osceola hills and have driven to play 18 holes at Orange Blossom in my electric cart. (And yes, I made it back as well!) While I would lean towards lithium batteries today, my current cart has 8 six volt batteries which serve our needs. I am very careful to always plug in the golf cart when I return so if I want to go out, the cart is ready. Have only done 50 miles in a day once or twice.

If you think you want to drive your cart that much, invest in top quality seating. Even if you can stand it today, a few years down the road you will like the comfort.

I'm 10 miles from Amberwood Golf and 10 miles from the Fenney Grill .... pretty darn unlikely I'm driving my golf cart more than 30 miles in a day.

Bottom line is it's rare to go over 50 which is why a smelly gas cart isn't needed.
I added a solar panel with the larger Ranger Trojan batteries and tested it at 70 miles with power to spare.

I've had one for close to a year now and really like it. Smooth, quiet, good acceleration and pull up the ramps out of tunnels.

At 50 miles, I still have 20% charge left, so 70 miles seems plausible.

I've had mine since 19'. 7k miles on it.
Haven't done a thing to it besides air in the tires.
No maintenance. No service. Nothing.
I put 22" tires on it which bumped the speed to 24+mph
I think that hurts my range a little, but 50+ miles is plenty.

Can you get to Brownwood in a cart from lets sumter landing?? I followed the cart roadway to just before 466A then lost it looks like lakes and golf courses after that. Is there a tunnel somewhere??

Lithium batteries verses lead acid golf cart batteries
 

We are thinking about converting 4 packs of lithium batteries to our 3 year old Club Car Golf Cart, which has lead acid batteries in it now. These lithium batteries are 48 volt and 30 amps each. This would give us 120 amps and am told the capability of going about 50 miles. We could add 2 more packs in the first 2 years to get 180 amps if we wanted to. Has anyone else done this and how did you like it? Looks like it would cost about $5,200 including the charger and digital gage.
