Properly looked at. What exactly does that mean.
Does that mean that properly looking at it will prevent failure?
I’d like to know what is the proper preventive maintenance that will prevent failure?

Search AMAZON for your parts, then have a mechanic install… it’s an easy job and
Aftermarket parts are available… parts are around 250.00 … also double check that shaft, it’s rarely an issue, the bronze bearing is designed to wear , not the hard steel shaft….it’s one of those jobs that Emory cloth will clean it up… ( the customer will never know)

They can't replace it as they only use Yamaha parts and Yamaha no longer manufactures input shafts for a 2011 cart. Anyone have any ideas on a reputable company that would be able to replace the input shaft for us? And any idea on what that might cost? Thanks for your help.

Just a quick note to bring closure to this thread... Scott at Titan Golf Cart (352-348-7381) was able to repair the input shaft for us at a very reasonable charge. We'll be using him for all of our golf cart repairs and maintenance moving forward!
