Sounds like a fixable issue.

Has anyone heard this or had this issue? The main reason I want to buy a new one is because of the quiet tech.

Thanks!

I love my 2019 Yamaha Quiet Tech. I have had no issues and only one minor complaint, the seat gets hot. I'm told it is due to the excessive heat retained by the insulation and other factors that keep it quiet. It's a minor sacrifice for all the other great aspects of the cart and actually works out well in the cooler months....heated seats!

My wife and I were interested in the Yesteryear cart until we saw a Streetrod while visiting the Villages. After moving down we checked out the Street Rod dealership and purchased our 1932 Ford. No problems whatsoever ever.

My 2019 is 11 months old, no problems as of yet.

2018 which, if the lemon law applied to carts, we would return in a flash. After 2 years, the belt has been replaced 4 times. Also had the muffler replaced (under warranty). Still doesn’t always start moving when you hit the accelerator, which is very scary when crossing a road. 2010 Yamaha has no problems, and both our regular repair guy and Villages Carts say there are a lot more issues with the quiet tech carts.

I have a 2017 refurbish quite tech. Love it and I have been in many no contest

You are correct in believing that gas powered carts emit carbon based emissions. No argument there. You are incorrect in thinking that electric powered carts are emission free. The electricity used to recharge the batteries has to come from somewhere. The emissions generated by electrical production take place at a location other than the consumption site but they are real and account for a considerable amount of air pollution.

I purchased a new quite tech cart in Jan 2018. Took delivery two weeks before returning to Canada. Have used it for two months (Nov Dec) in 2018, five months in the year 2019 (Jan Feb March Nov Dec) and so far, just over three months this year. We have had absolutely NO PROBLEMS and can confirm that it is a lot quieter than the older gas carts. we are in the process of selling our home, furnishings and golf cart. We loaded our cart with most options available including special metallic blue paint, adjustable bucket seats, wheels , woodgrain dash, eventually bringing the total cost to close to $15,000. I later added a radio with front and rear speakers. I am selling it for $10,000. I am sure you would pay $16,000 plus for the same cart brand new. The cart just turned 1500 miles, so is like new. If you or anyone else is interested in buying a new cart you can save about $ 6000. You can call me at 352 633 3432.

Well, listen to him but ask more than one person to see how 5 to 10 other people are doing with their Yamaha carts. I had 2 Yamaha's & my first one was a 2013 & yes I did have a clutch problem with it but they put a new one in & never had another issue with anything again, I also put 26,000 miles on it from Oct. of 2012 to Dec. of 2018 when I bought my new one (2018), unfortunately I only drove it for a yr. then sold it because we moved out of state, in that 1 yr. I put 5,000 mi. on it.

My 2017 had the same problem, Carts & Clubs replaced the starting generator and haven't had a problem since. That said, It's had 2 clutches break and have been replaced. Other issues as well. But, Carts & Clubs stands behind all the problems and I have yet to be charged for any warranty item. The service they provide is top notch. I was told the clutch problem will be taken care of soon with all the carts with a factory recall. The circlip on the clutch was changed in 2017. It's very thin material as compared with the carts prior to 2017. C&C mechanic showed be both and there is a big difference.
