We have been looking at new golf carts, but decided we wanted to take a test drive in an E-Z-Go before making any decision. I think we'll scratch that off the list now.

Thanks!
I love my electric EZGO.

You will love driving the AC drive EZGO, when I drove it I was very impressed. I did not buy one in December 09, as I did not like the 4-12v battery configuration, I felt the RXV AC drive was very new and I got a chance to get a 2002 beat up electric Club Car with no batteries to rebuild, who could pass that up

This is a new year, hopefully issues resolved, so if I was to shop for an AC drive EZGO, I would first ask the dealer to be specific about issues you have heard about and how they were addressed. When we were looking we even drifted back into the service area and asked them things they were dealing with. In addition I would join a forum like buggiesgonewild.com or buggiesunlimited.com and read, even post questions.

One thing to keep in mind is how unique The Villages is. Manufacturers for years designed electric carts to go 3 rounds of golf MAX, less than 20 miles. Here we are asking the carts to push 40+ miles. I am not sure what the demand is for carts that go 40 miles UNLESS you live in The Villages.

Good luck.

After reading about so many problems with electric carts, and seeing one being towed by a gas cart yesterday, I am so happy I bought a gas yamaha

Have those who have been having battery or electrical problems gotten them resolved?

Absolutely and the solution was trade-in! After five problems and the failure of AGC and E-Z-GO to step up and address the issue we traded the cart for another brand who gave us a respectable offer for a trade in on their gas model.

We love our EZ Go also. Great customer care at Town & Country in SS. We drive in every few weeks and they check the batteries and tires for free. We had an accident with the golf bag sunbreller cover (long story) and they replaced it for free. Great guys.

I have not been able to find confirmation on the Internet, but I heard from a very well respected source that there is litigation on this matter.

I'll share what I heard by PM.

I know 7 folks with these carts, including myself. Six have had the same range problems, including me. If you have any information on the suit I would like to know it.

Very true. So the question is how do you know you are buying the right golf cart?
My wife's 1st E-Z-GO was a 2008 electric and was a great cart with no problems or range issues. Unfortunately the cart and both of us fell victim to an irresponsible driver. When the cart was replaced she bought a 2009 electric E-Z-GO which was nothing more than a lemon and we no longer own.

For those of us "wannabee TVs" who are still wrestling with this issue, these great posts have made the decision even worse. I understand the dislike for fumes, but when we get down hopefully in 18 months, I think we will go with gas. This reminds me of the issue between sailboaters and powerboaters (quiet vs noisy)!
