Question about windshield styles
I'm about to order a new cart and wonder what style windshield would be best. It seems there are 3 choices.
1) the regular flip down in the middle style. 2) flips down in the middle but has the "slide across" opening vents for when window is up but allows some air. OR 3) the "newer" style that has the smaller flip up style down at the bottom Option 3 does not allow any flip down of the top window for "big airflow" and someone who has style #2 says the slide grates get dirty and are hard to clean. There is no difference in price so curious as to what others like or dislike about the different styles. Thanks! |

My cart will be ten years old this summer, I've had the basic fold-down windshield the whole time and that's all they offered then. It will probably give you as much air as you can stand when it's folded. Some people will buy a pop-in screen, you can find them at Ace for about $20, I've never had any bug problems when it's folded.
My neighbor who I use to sometimes ride with before Covid to the gold course has these slots with the sliding covers. I don't really find much air coming through, if it does, it's not up by your face. He still folds down his windshield when it's hot and that blocks the slots anyway. I've seen carts that have almost a 3 piece windshield, whereas the bottom will pop forward. That might work good, with the air flowing over the cowling and maybe up toward your face, you could keep the top closed and still have air. I haven't spoken to anyone that has one. I also have a 12v fan that provides some air when you're sitting still. I bought it on the Home Depot website for $30 and run the wire down to the 12v Cig adapter plug. |

My wife's, top 1/2 flip down. Mine, bottom 1/4 pops open. Mine can be hot and limit air flow on the passengers. The air flows in, up to the ceiling and out the back.
Friends have the slide vents...............they are really hot and air flow sucks.

My wife didnβt like the 1/2 flip downs, the spilt line was right in her field of vision. So I got the flip out at the bottom that moved the spit down out of her vision. Plus I can adjust the amount of air flow coming up.

Ours both are option number 1, wish they were both number two. Forget about number three, why?

Go for the flip down great on the golf course on hot days . A nice breeze from hole to hole. Open road to windy for me. Nice air flow in over the top when in up position .

I've got the half flip down version - a friend of mine made an oblong of plastic tubing with 'elbow' corners I can pop this under the screen halfway down it's folding and leaves the screen totally flat and level. This is now a great tailgating 'table' for watching sports wildlife attending outdoor gigs etc.

My wife did not like the half flip down from the top, because the center bar was right in her line of vision. We got the new windshield that flips up from the bottom. It definitely
improves your vision by not have that center bar. As for air flow, we get plenty of air flow with it open at the bottom and we don't need a screen for bugs. |

I love mine with the sliding window grates. Lets you get air without being blown away from having the window flipped down while you drive. Great for hot weather days. Doesn't get all that dirty. Had mine for 3 years.

I got my Yamaha at Carts and Clubs. My windshield folds down from the top and at the bottom of the lower windshield, there is a portion that flips up for air flow. I like it cause when it rains it doesn't come in like in the sliding vents of the other style.
