We recently bought a refurbished gas Yamaha from the golf cart dealer on 466 at Santa Fe Crossing and was pleased with everything. I have been told that you cannot get the new snaps with pull technology from The Villages golf shops. These snaps are FABULOUS! No more struggling or ripping fabric to close up the cart. That would be my #1 requirement on a new cart.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but where did you get it?

Villages Golf Cart - They had only a few since they are $$ 14-15k - if they warranty 8 yrs- it should last. (only EZGO has the lithium) - that I know of- Personally love all things yamaha - but man they stink , esp when cold.

I enjoy the NO maint and NO smells or leaks or anything (lithium) is the new tech in carts.

I personally like the auto brake

Of course anything can go wrong, I have a 2010 gas Yamaha have had it 6 years, change the 12 vote battery once, runs like a bear.

Is it quiet? Or does it make an annoying high pitched whine? We have a 2015 yamaha gas which has been flawless but it's a bit loud when driving around. How about range...how far will it go? Thanks :)

Let us know what you pick.

If you are OK with a used cart, I would look for a 2014 or newer Yamaha gas cart with fuel injection (EFI). The Yamaha Quiettec carts started in 2017, I believe. They are quieter and ride better than the earlier carts. You should be able to find a nicely equipped 2014 for about $5K. If you want a new cart then I would take a look at the EZGO electric with lithium-ion batteries, as was already suggested. They are not cheap but may be worth it if you take a long term view.

supposed to be 70 miles on a charge- it's whisper* quiet, hauls up hills like it's electrified and requires no water or maintenance. (no heat in garage either - both golf and vehicle electric) prior to my garage was 150 degrees from the hot engine when I returned from dinner.

I haven't needed to charge it , yet- it's till on F (full) and I pay golf everyday.

*I can't hear anything whine

I'm seasonal use so this option works for me- it's ready when you need it. (same as my 20 yr old toaster)

**not a sales pitch- I'm just all about keeping the planet cooler -

I own a EZGO electric and love it, I got rid of the stinking gas cart. I can go 40 miles on a charge, that's as much as anyone would want to drive at once. The new EZGO with the lithium batteries would be the best bet. When comparing look under the front end at the steering and frame work and compare different brands, you'll be surprised how much beefier the EZGO is made. All gas carts stink and make noise, just follow one in a tunnel.

I bought an electric, what a mistake. Yamaha gas is the only one to buy. Will last your lifetime if taken care of.

Redwood8300 12-22-2019 11:37 AM

Not true. Atomic has Li Ion batteries with a range of 150 mi B4 you need to recharge.

Mikeodonnell73 12-22-2019 11:54 AM

Talking to some of the salesmen at the Villages Golf sop they say that 95% buy gas vs electric.

I will keep my gas, been more than 40 in a day.

You tube it.

It's the TESLA of carts!

Not to argue, but everything I read says 5 yr warranty
