Going to replace my beautiful 2007 Streetrod with a new Yamaha. Should I try to sell it myself or do a trade-in? Any thoughts on the best place to make the trade?

Like almost anything, selling to someone that is going to resell it (i.e. trade it) will give you a much smaller return than selling it to an end-user. The dealer has to make money on the eventual resale so they are going to give you less. Simple economics. You have to decide if the difference is worth your time, effort, and convenience.

find out what they will give you on a trade and like the previous poster said decide if it is worth the effort to try and sell it. Depending on the mileage i’m not sure how much demand there will be for a 2007 street rod.

The beauty of my/most Streetrod is the way it has been kept/used. Fair weather only. Always maintained by Streetrod. Upgrades. It isn't new, but in great shape. Not sure about price. The Streetrod store has similar used ones for over $9,000, new 20k plus.

If they are selling them for $9k, they will likely only offer you 5 or 6 for yours in trade. If you can get more than that selling it yourself, that is obviously a better option. Ask what they will give you in trade; then offer it here and see if you can beat that price.

What's a Streetrod?

Is it electric or gas? Old electric technology and the need for battery replacement will scare away most buyers. If it is gas, there is sure to be someone out there who would like to own a streetrod at a fair price.

What is underneath the body of a Streetrod? My understanding is that they just add those bodies to existing golf cart frames and power trains. I'd love to know if they use Yamaha gas or Club Car electric or whatever they use.

Not to be too negative, but when I first got here I talked to some people about getting some kind of nice looking body on a golf cart and I was told that those bodies are much heavier than the standard golf cart body so you get much lower mileage.

I thought I read they are club carts with Kawasaki snowmobile engines.
