Thank you, I was just going to post this very same thing. This was a subject only couple of weeks ago.

Whatever you do, if you need to drive through a tunnel to get home, don’t buy a Christmas tree and strap it to the roof of your golf cart. I saw someone do exactly that a few years ago, the result wasn’t good.

I have had a lifted electric cart for over three years and have never had a problem. It has never come close to tipping. i should mention that with the cart being electric, more of the weight is mounted down lower than with a gas cart due to the batteries. Also with the height of the lifted cart and the associated 12" wheels, i have never had a problem going through any tunnel.

When you say "critical height is one golf cart width from the center".... You're assuming that the person coming at you is driving on the proper side of the center line!!!

Thanks for this tunnel info

This database of all tunnel dimensions is good. I have linked this to the golf cart page for newbies and snowbirds on

I also like the District's video on golf cart safety.. never enough

From a 4-seater renter.....

That’s a foot shorter than the next shortest ones, which includes the infamous tunnel near Saddlebrook rec center that tops tend to scrape.

I go through those tunnels often and have never thought about them being too low. I’ve also never been to the Saddlebrook tunnel to compare.

height

If you search you will see a pic of a cart stuck on the edge of a tunnel flipped up high - don't hug the edge

I contacted districtgov.org this morning after reading the posts. I sent them the information below from their chart.

MR4 Under Meggison Rd at the intersection of Warm Springs Ave 64" 70"
WS1 Under Warm Springs Ave at the intersection of Meggison Rd 64" 70"

This evening when I checked my email, I was informed that both of these tunnels are:

'91” from the light in the center to the base, and 74” on the side. (both tunnels).

We will have our chart updated.'

Here is a version of the chart with the above correction, and sorted by mid-tunnel height.
