You must be a minimum of 14 years old to drive a cart. A driver's license is not required.

The only regulation in TV is on the rental carts at the country clubs. There, you must be at least 16 with a driver's license. Other than that, Florida statute applies.

You can drive a golf cart at fourteen with no license in the Villages. You can drive as fast as 20mph in The Villages..

To get accurate information, I Googled Florida law-golf carts.

the law provides for TV to allow exceptions in certain situations, which TV follows.

Does anyone know if I need a “handicap” placard on my golf cart like I have for my car in order to park in the handicap spaces in the rec parking lots? Where do I get one? Can I use the one from my car? TY

Handicap placards are not for golf carts (exception: street legal golf carts). They are for REGISTERED motor vehicles. Since you can't register a golf cart (except for street legal carts) in Florida, golf carts are not allowed in those spaces.

Although, in the Villages, apparently every golf-cart-owning disabled person is a special snowflake and parks in them anyway.

But some day, should you ever do that and find yourself with a ticket on your golf score-card clipboard, you'll know why.

Was it really necessary to be rude? I didn't know about the therapeutic effect of driving a golf cart. When a person with a disability arrives in a car they need a closer space but the act of driving a golf cart somehow makes them able to walk a longer distance?

If that is FL law then so be it but given that golf carts are a standard means of transportation here, maybe we need a golf cart equivalent for the handicap pass.
