The Villages Florida, should be the biggest area anywhere for need for parts. After all, every resident owns a cart? Like what other town has over 100,000 carts?

He called The Villages golf cart sales and they said they had the part but would not sell it to him because of parts shortages involving the supply chain issues the country is facing but would install it if he brought in the cart. He advised that he would have to rent a trailer and drive it over. Not acceptable to him. He suggested he pay for the part AND their labor charge (they would not have to install the part) and have me just pick up the part for him. They would not even do that!! Now what king of BS is that? Some parts are very easy to install, a drive belt for instance. This is no way to treat us.

Make sure you know their policies before driving back here. The previous owner of my Yamaha purchased their cart there. They either wouldn’t service it or schedule it a few months out because ownership had transferred.

Looks like Amazon might have your parts.

Just replaced my clutch on 2018. Used partzillia.com to but part. When you order they will tell you how long before it ships. Mine was 2-3 days. Cost was ~300 including shipping. I've used these folks before and give them high marks. Look up the part number from the diagrams for your year and model found on yamahagolfcar.com (bottom of page> parts & accessories under heading resources then navigate from there.)

Why would you pay to replace your clutch when it is warranty covered by Yamaha/The Villages Golf Carts for 5 years?

Maybe they want to have parts to Village residents?

Sounds like you must have had issues with the starter generator or a wiring/ground problem. As with all electrical components, once installed by a customer doing his own diagnostics, you own it.

So I guess you've never heard of a defective part!!!! After 40 years in the car repair industry I've seen about any and every part fail due to a defect having nothing to do with installation. Especially batteries, and especially when they were producing the side post models. Not a single manufacturer could make one that didn't eventually leak acid a cause corrosion damage which they were never responsible for.

Recently I needed to replace the plastic part where bag is stored. They quoted me $240 for parts and labor. Country VIllage did same job for less than $150. Another reason to not use this biz.

You are correct. This is about the only place I've seen that will turn away paying customers. That's not part of any business model I've ever seen. I love living here but it's just another one of the ways TV takes advantage of the people that made them the billionaires they are. That big sucking sound you hear is the establishment sucking your resources from your pockets.

I hear ya! Same kind of thing happened to us. We purchased a Yamaha from Carts and Clubs in 2017 (great place, by the way, they make house calls to service the machine). A couple of years later the better half decided she didn't like the seat that came with it originally, so I went to the Villages to purchase a different style. Once they learned that I hadn't purchased my cart from them, they shut the door on me and said "No sale, if the cart wasn't purchased here." Not a problem for me, I simply went back to C&C's, bought the new seat and installed it myself. The new seat's cost came to $1389.33. Now why would a company pass on that kind of sale because I didn't buy my cart from them? It really doesn't make any sense, no matter how many of you readers will try to rationalize their logic.

Seriously, TV cart sales said that!

From one Ohio Buckeye to another - yes, they did say that.

Around 6-7 years ago, I had my cart in for an oil change / tuneup. I asked for a quote to upgrade my lights to LED on my older cart. The quote I got was so outrageously over-the-top from the smarta-- salesman, I have never been back and will never go back. If you want my money, show some respect.

I called to see if they had a brake pack for a ezgo electric, they had one but wouldn't sell it to me, they had to install it. Only 3 bolts hold it on, simple easy install. So I bought one online about half the price.

Interesting. I've had nothing but positive and helpful service from them for the past 11 years. From purchase, aftermarket parts, rentals and service. In fact, the last purchase (a larger cooler) the salesperson walked out back and installed the bracket for me on the spot.

The only time I wasn't able to obtain a part (drive belt) was because they were out of stock, I bought the part online. Perhaps they had the belt, and were using them only for customers having them replaced at the shop. I would certainly understand that, as I wanted to do the repair myself. And I totally get that they don't want to be a "parts shop" for DIY'rs

Country Village Power is the Best

Country Village Power in Webster is the best of the Yamaha dealers in the area. If you're looking to buy new, it is a pleasant drive to Webster to look at their inventory.

If your cart needs service, they have a truck and a serviceman in The Villages most every day. If he can't do the repairs at your house, he will take the cart to Webster and return it when it has been fixed.

Their prices for servicing a cart are no more than its competitors. If you are buying a new cart, you will save several $1000's over The Villages, and pay, approximately, what you would at Villages Discount for a used/rebuilt cart.
