GeoGeo is a girl? Someone was offended? I like every single soul who has posted on this thread and glad that GeoGeo is helping find homes for furries..

There will always be someone who is struck wrong by something. I have been and been the only one. We are just peoples, all peddling as fast as we can.

I realize I don't have all of the time in the world left just because I am 75. It just hit me. We all are in the third or fourth quarter. Let's not get upset if we can help it. But we will. Because we are people.

It is another beautiful day in The Villages. Four good things have happened to me this day. How about y'all?

If you object to the way GeoGeo does it, why not block her?

Isn't WHAT she is doing way more important then how the title looks to YOU??

What should offend people is the fact that these animals have to be rescued in the first place, although I do understand in some cases it can't be avoided. If your our so-called offensive post found that little guy a good home I say offend away!

GeoGeo: Just want to add my voice to those who support you. Please continue to use this Forum to help the fur babies.

To avoid being offended, the unhappy TOTV member can go to Usercp/Settings and Options/Edit Ignore List and add your name.

I am not offended at all! If i dont want to read something i just go to something else.....if you help one animal...then you have done a great job!

Don't let someone else ruin it for all.

You are so right!! It just bites my butt that anyone can abuse a poor dog...usually those are the ones, not so much kitties. I see a lot of this on my FB page and it just brings me to tears. If you are not an animal lover, so be it...don't have one! I applaud anyone that goes out of their way to help by fostering or helping to care for or place these animals. My big lottery purchase would be a farm to house as many rescues as I can get, and let them live out their lives happy and cared for.

GeoGeo 07-01-2015 02:25 PM

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't offending anyone else. Thank you for the feedback. My intentions are never to offend anyone. I hope the person who PM'd me will block my posts. Maybe the first time I read their PM I was a little more upset by it than I should have been. I later apologized. This person is an animal lover. So it had nothing to do with finding animals homes. It was all about the wording of the title. I don't feel like I did anything wrong and I believe we both have the right to disagree. It is very hard to watch the news, read a newspaper, visit websites, etc. when you are very sensitive to wording. I wish this person well.

How could you be offended when they weren't talking about you? If a couple words alone offends you, how can you ever sit through an entire movie or read the newspaper?

Thinking about your post, if it bleeds it leads totally offends me.

If it is the case that a dog or cat is about to be euthanized, I think it is good to report that to get someone's attention who might save that pet.

Even though we are at our two-pet limit (although really, a bird in a cage??? Count as a pet even if he does talk?), I open every single rescue post. I have pretend-rescued about ten dogs and a couple of cats on TOTV over the past several years. I pretend the cats would be bird friendly. I am working on wearing down my DH as to a second dog but so far...

Buddy would be mine, for sure, and maybe Jolene.

redwitch 07-01-2015 02:36 PM

I hate to admit it, but I don't open the rescue pet posts. Not because I don't care but because I care too much. If I could, I would adopt every one of the critters but I have enough just keeping my two bratty cats satisfied.

Geo, the one thing I would suggest is that you let folks know you're trying to find a home for a rescue. Some of your posts don't make that quite clear and, like most here, I just go to new posts and click away. I'd really hate to miss your posting something other than about an animal needing help because it is a day where I can't bear to read about another's pain.

CathyandSteveG 07-01-2015 02:44 PM

rewitch....i am with you! i open them...but i always know it is going to sadden me because i cannot save them..... but at the same time i am drawn to those threads.

ScorpioSquared 07-01-2015 02:58 PM

Keep up the good work of getting the word out for these furry babies. Nothing offensive about that! Time is of the essence for many of these poor creatures...nothing dramatic about that just plain sad!!!

raynan 07-01-2015 03:10 PM

GeoGeo keep up the good work putting out the word on pet rescue.

Villager1970 07-01-2015 03:58 PM

I cried when I saw the post about the duck. I cry about most animal stories. It is hard to see.
