As many other posters have said, you are angels to take in this puppy. St. Francis of Assisi must have seen this puppy needed help and sent you two. Keep us up to date on your new fur baby.

I agree with, I believe it was, GracieGirl, he is a keeper..

Good on you for being such a caring person.

The beautiful puppy looks like an Australian cattle dog. Very loyal and smart breed of dog. You will have a great dog if you love him and train him.

Vet's report on Truman

Yes, we are going to keep him.

The vet says he's healthy and gave him all his shots + flea medicine. She says he's about 4 months old and she agrees with those of you who said Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler/Queensland Heeler).

He is doing beautifully in our home. My lab and weimaraner seem to enjoy having him around -- he's playful but not a pest. He's already showing his herding instincts, running circles around them when they play outside!

I just cannot believe that anyone could abandon such a sweet, smart puppy in such a heartless way.

Thanks to all of you TOTVers who have reminded us how fortunate we are.

I agree with....

Gracie... He's a keeper.

You can do a DNA and find out exactly!

It's less the $100 and will give you some insight as to his traits!

Congratulations on your new baby!

This has been a wonderful story and I have loved reading this. :mademyday:

I say HE is a Heeler and YOU are a HEALER.
He is beautiful. Cesar had one on Dog Whisperer and it resembled this beauty.
How fortunate for LUCKY that you came along and that the neighbor saw the morons in the act of dumping.
Their loss is your gain.
His love and affection knows no bounds.
Heeler or Cattle dog, they both go for the "heels" and are great, loyal workers and companions. You have another true friend for life and he will never let you down.
No matter the heritage, you got what you needed and he is saved forever.
Wishing you all you wish for... and thensome.
Thx for saving another life.
roni

This little fellow is so CUTE and I checked him out right down to his puppy breath. He has the perkiest ears and bright eyes and that one spot over his eye makes him the quintessential "His Master's Voice" doggie.

He fits beautifully into his loving family and he is my neighbor!

Truman is a keeper for sure.

I love puppy breath! It's the best, ever! I am so happy for Truman and his family!

I think it's wonderful of you to have rescued this dog, but I do not understand your disregarding the deed restrictions (2 pets per household.) I'm not a dog hater, but one reason I moved to the villages, was because of the restrictions.

bike42 09-08-2012 07:36 AM

Actually my next door neighbor will own him. We share an electric invisible fence that joins the two properties and have four dogs between us. thank you for your concern.
