Cat seen in storm drain entrance
This morning while walking my dog in the 47 degree weather on Markridge Loop, my dog kept trying to go to a storm drain so I walked over and peered in and spotted a large gray cat laying in the side of the entrance. The cat stared at us but didn't move. This evening the cat is still there in the same position. Perhaps it is a female who is preparing to have a litter, but it is too cold for it to be there in this weather, and it is obviously not eating since it hasn't moved. Should I call someone to have it removed?

Probably a ferral cat.....she can take care of herself.

I'm sure someone in TV will come to the rescue. Something needs to be done to rescue the cat.

In the Daily Sun there has been a lost gray cat every day for the past week. Someone is suffering the loss of their cat. Could this be the cat? Please check the Sun today. I called the lady who lost the cat ****************** She also said that the cat would not run from a dog, so maybe it's her. I'm hoping......
Editor's note. For the phone number of the lady who lost the cat, please PM this poster. This post was edited by the administrators to remove a private phone number. |

Please let us know how this comes out. I hope the cat belonged to the lady who lost hers and they are reunited.

Cat is gone this morning
As soon as I read these posts I walked up to see if the cat was still there but was gone. I never thought to check Daily Sun for lost pets. I hope it is found. I'll check all other storm drains in the nearby streets.

There are many stray cats around TV who jump into storm drains (and hopefully out too) like it is nothing. At first, I was trying to rescue all of them, but that is close to impossible. Escaped house cats and dogs are another story. Why can't they put grates over those big hole in the back of the drains to keep pets from jumping in?????

There are ferral cats in my neighborhood as well. They hang out in the storm drains and tear up garbage bags twice a week for food. Seems like I have seen a couple of them around for quite a while. Guess the garbage is good on my street!!
