There are plenty of chairs and even two swings available for relaxing at DDRR. There are two covered areas where the dog owners gather and talk while their dog plays. There are at least 4 water spickets and bowls for fresh water for the dogs. Lots of shade from the big trees in the large dog park. It is really all you can ask for in a dog park. My Border Collie/Collie has been a member there for 5 years.

Thanks, Schotzyb. I'm definitely going there in Feb.
And would your Avatar happen to be black and gold? |
Hope to see you there! Yes it is Black&Gold but they let me down big time yesterday

black & gold
Yes, it was an ugly game. We're Pittsburgh natives and have an apartment here; been here all fall, and in touch with all the injuries, plus the running backs coach's horrible burn injuries two days before Denver game. It's like they've been doomed all season with these injuries. Today they said Pouncey, Stark, Hampton, & of course Mendenhal will need surgery. Sigh.
Hope we meet at Doggie Doo Run Run. I'll put the Steelers collar on the dog (whose name is Crosby after Sid, another sad injury story. And now Stahl and Neal out for weeks with injuries...) Oh yeah, this is a dog post. Sorry! |
My wife is from Springdale which is about 30 miles from Pittsburgh. She worked at CHildren's Hospital .

Pittsburgh
My favorite place, except for the weather.

Good Morning, CFrance. We started to go to the dog park last summer. We live in Hudsonville so it takes nearly an hour to get there.

dog beach
Oh, I know... You almost can't get to Muskegon from Hudsonville, Jennison area! No direct routes.
There were two rescue goldens on the beach last summer. One had chased a bird out into the water and kept swimming. Everyone was afraid it was going to drown, but the bird finally turned around after half a mile, and somehow the dog got back to shore. After that the goldens were only there with life vests on. So funny to see a golden in a life vest, but I don't blame the owner for doing that. Our golden goes there frequently with his best friends, Samson, a Rottie, and Brummit, a keeshond. They're a motley-looking crew. But once ours hits the beach his only focus is the tennis ball and how far I can throw it with the chucker. I hope he likes Doggy Doo Run Run. It sounds like a great place. |

It's all good. |
I want to go there now!
Barefoot, I can't wait to go. Does one just show up to join, or do you have to call first for a temperament test? Is it a monthly fee?
Do you use the big dog part? I'm guessing your little dog gets along with big dogs since he lives with one. |

My big dog and my little dog are best of friends, and they both adore our 19 year-old cat. I've used the big dog part of DDRR for the past four winters. Two reasons, because my little dog loves to play with big dogs. And secondly, I was by myself, because Fireboy hadn't yet retired. So little dogs can go in Big Dogs, but Big Dogs over 30 lbs aren't allowed in Little Dogs. I hope that makes sense. Fireboy is actually retiring today from the Fire Department, yay. So now one of us will take LolliPop in Big Dogs, and one of us will take Biggins in Little Dogs, since is 12 now, and shouldn't be rolling around with rotweillers anymore. See you at DDRR. |

Barefoot, what time do you all tend to go to DDRR?

It varies for me but usually between 8am-11am. Sometimes we make a second trip late in the afternoon right before closing time.
