Not in their own yard, although recommended.

The only way is to buy a same sized door with half glass/half wood and cut the hole in the wood section. I did this at my previous house but not in The Villages.

perhaps, but little Fido next door never stayed in his own yard when let out without a leash....

I know because I got tired of picking up after him, so I started 'golfing' the packages he left on my lawn over to his...they now walk Fido on a leash in TV

folks that care about their pets need to keep in mind that there are dangers to letting Fido run around....coyotes, large eagles and small gators roam about and feed

we had a 5 foot gator on our front lawn...in the middle of the day

You do know some people live in fenced in Courtyard Verandas, don't you? Also some of us have grown up in FL and lived here our whole lives and know all about the critters that live here with us.

I’ve installed several doggie doors in wooden doors and even rebuilt a couple screen doors in order to install a dog door. For a full glass door (tempered, I assume, and not a slider), you need a specialty glass service. This is NOT a DIY thing or a handyman job. Glass specialists know how to cut glass properly. It’s not necessarily expensive, but they may need to take the door to their work room. Your usual doggie door installers are less likely to do it without breaking the glass. You see, they may need to cut rectangle out of an already set larger door-size rectangle. That’s harder than cutting one end off a piece of glass. They may also need to reinforce the glass with a metal strip and caulking, and they may need to drill holes in the glass for where the bolts go through.

well happy to hear that you are on top of things...many do not have fenced in yards and have recently moved here...but thanks for pointing that out that you are okay

stay safe

Lowes and Home Depot sell inserts to put in your sliding glass door. There is also an excellent door called Hale - a little expensive but worth it.

I dont know what a full glass lanai.cabana door is. I guess you meen something like my screen door that lets you into the back yard. Anyhow, I once installed my doggie door in the aluminum base plate of the porch.

We bought one that is pre-maid. It fits perfectly with our slider at Lowe's or Home Depot - I forget which.

We ordered the full glass for our door from a company in CA. It is full glass on top with 1/2 glass on bottom and 1/2 doggie door. It’s perfect. We had a local door co install it for us. It fit into our glass Lani door frame.

Perhaps the owner of the dog lives in a court yard villa. Fido won't get out having a doggie door.

To all that have replied - we have a fence, so the dogs will not be loose. I am totally aware that dogs need to be on a leash.
