Default Found silver schnauzer at Publix on Mulberry; looking for its home

A dog followed me in to the Publix store tonight on Mulberry. After paging in the store , no one came to claim him. I have called the radio station and they have announced it twice, still no one has called. PLEASE help me find his Mom & Dad. He is a silver schnauzer . He has a collar but no tags. He is at my home now, but I work tomorrow and don't want to leave him here.

Thanks!!

Joanna, as a "Schnauzer" mommy, I feel so sorry for that baby. If you need any help, I'll pm you my phone #. Thank you for taking him into your home, that was very kind of you.

Can you get him to a vet to see if he has a chip?

Another Schnauzer-mom here. Thanks for looking out for the little guy. He may be microchipped. A Vet, SPCA or animal control facility can scan him for you.

Default Lost Dog

I just took the little guy into Mulberry Pet Hospital and he is NOT microchipped. He got nervous in the vets office, so I am sure he has been to one before! I have to leave for work in 20 minutes and I'm not sure he would be a good house guest when no one is here.

Deb, yes she did, she brought him right away to the vet and there was no chip. She still has him and I spoke to her this morning. He's an adorable, spoiled dog and is missing his home. I promised Johnna that I would keep the posts moving today as best I could while she's at work.
  • It has been announced many, many times on the radio.
  • She spoke to a groomer, since he was newly groomed, and that groomer didn't know the dog.
  • He comes from the Mulberry area so if anyone knows the names and numbers of groomers in that area, I can call them today while Johnna is at work.
Anyone have any other suggestions that I've missed, maybe??? I think Johnna has been wonderful to take the dog in but she needs help in finding its home.

Thanks for your help....

So glad that he’s found some friends to help him find his way home. The only other thing I can think of right now is putting up some “found dog” posters.

Thank you, I just received from totv members, a name of a groomer who I will call now and also a volunteer to help with posters. This is all very much appreciated.

I will keep you posted but does anyone know the # for Community Watch so I can report this dog to them???

Thanks so much.

I hope that the owner is ok. It is strange that they don't seem to be looking for their lost pet.

The owners are probably checking with the local dog pounds, shelters, etc. Please call these shelters and describe the dog you found (color collar, etc.) and give them some contact info to find you.

Unhappy Lost Dog

I still have the little guy. He was a perfect angel today. I took him to Mulberry Dog Park tonight but no one recognized him as a dog they knew. I checked all the mailbox centers in the area to see if anyone had posted signs. I also checked out the businesses in Mulberry Grove. Someone said there was a notice for a lost dog at Mulberry Rec Center, but it was for a black dauschaund. Thanks for the phone numbers for all the agencys. I will call them tomorrow. They were closed by the time I got home from work. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Johnna,
You are wonderful for taking good care of this lost doggie. I so hope (s)he is reunited with family. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Thank you too to KathieI, K-9 Lovsers and others who are helping.

Love,

Hopefully the owners of the pooch did not abandon her. With the economy in the miserable condition it is in, many animals find themselves on the street because the owners can no longer afford to keep them. Hopefully, this is not the case here.
