Default Lepto vaccine for dogs

Just curious, how many dog owners have given their pet Lepo vaccine. Leptospirosis is a deadly bacterial disease spread by wildlife. My little girl is getting her Lepto vaccine today, as much as I do not like vaccines, it is on her list of preventable diseases from our vet. I would love any input from other villages pet owners.

We lost our six year old beagle to that disease back on eastern Long Island. He was fine on Friday and had to be put down on Monday. Total shut down of both liver and kidney functions. Never heard of it until then, and the vet never suggested any vaccination for it even though there was plenty of wildlife (raccoons) around our area.

Our current beagle always is vaccinated against it. Always. Every owner should consider doing the same.

Good for you for having it done.

I also hate vaccines, but some are necessary evils. Our Vet definitely gives the Lepo vaccine to our two dogs.
And we also have them on heartworm meds year round (Revolution).

Thank you for your feed back, our little girl got her vaccine today. The vet at buffalo ridge animal hospital was so kind and explained everything to me about lepto disease. We have a little rescue ShihTzu from a forever home animal rescue. She had heart worm disease when we rescued her, had all of her horrible treatment and is now very well. We can't even say how much we love her, she warms our hearts. She is the best little baby love, and a little spoiled, and deserves every minute of our affection.

Thanks for giving your little baby another chance at life.
People like you make my heart smile. I know that's corny, but it's true.
