Sorry for your loss. After I lost mine I said never again. Hurt too much. He stayed with me through everything, including chemo.

Dogs and cats by nature have a far shorter lifespan than we do, and dealing with their passing is a necessary thing for any pet owner. We recently lost our African Gray parrot, he was 42 years old and talked to us all day long, how we miss that, the first thing we heard in the morning when we came out of the bedroom was "Good morning", then when we started breakfast he would say can I have some toast. We have a picture of him and talk to him every day. I hope you find another special friend to spend your life with, there are many out there who need someone.

We lost our dog the beginning of August. We found that the Humane Society in Leesburg would take anything we had. Opened food, unopened food, treats, beds, anything. Sumter County was very specific about what they would take but Leesburg was very gracious and seemed glad to get what I brought over.

Sorry for your loss. Please know that there are many great dogs at Your Humane Society SPCA looking for a home and would love to fill the void. One of them has been there for more than 3 years, another more than 18 months.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I know how heartbreaking it is. I lost my dog earlier this year. I honestly still can't talk about it without choking up. I miss him every day.

I lost both my dogs 6 weeks apart - one due to cancer and the second due to a broken heart ( I believe) I swore I would never get another as the second was so sensitive to my own moods. After 6 mos , I stumbled on my new rescue. I still had much of what I had when the other 2 passed. The collars and leashes came in handy , much of the food stuffs were donated to food shelters and the local animal shelters. The local food shelter would take open bags when the animal shelters took the closed ones . My heart goes out to you .

That's exactly it! Losing your shadow! I had 4 dogs at once for many years and now we are down to two. It is absolutely heartbreaking.

So sorry for your loss. 💔 Beautiful fur baby. I’m feeling your pain as we just had to let our 15 y/o kitty pass over the rainbow bridge last Monday. So much heartache when they’ve been a part of our lives for so many years. 🥺 (((Hugs)))

No words can express the hurt we've been there too more times than we care to remember. You have my deepest sympathy.

I know your pain, and I am so sorry you have to go through the pain of loss. Your dog, like ours, is part of our family. I hate that we outlive them and have to make hard decisions at the end.
