Now you've gone to far. Now you've hurt my feelings. And Russ, what were you doing peaking in the Girl Talk thread anyway!!!! Of course I'm just kidding! at least about you going to far and hurting my feelings, not about quit peaking in Girl Talk. You don't have to be PC in my book. We all have opinions, some of which are unpopular. For example, there's this Kool expression that I love... oh, never mind. Even my cat, 2-Putt, is not mad at you. Like the cats Pooh knows, you'd probably be the first one he'd go to. Cats are catty that way. |

I've owned one cat in my life and he was a rescue. I was in college, working summers in the kitchen of a nursing home near home when this young cat wandered in. He then made his way to the patients' rooms and walked around as if he owned the place. The administrator wanted him gone and was about to call animal control to come and get him. I decided he wasn't going so I just picked him up and put him in my car till I went home...and surprised my parents and siblings. Dad really disliked cats, my sister also doesn't like cats. Mom, brother and I were thrilled to have this furry addition to the household. Of course Stanleigh stayed. He rode home in my car beautifully and didn't fuss one little bit. Once he got older, taking him in the car, even to the vet was an adventure. He'd howl, pant, appear to be dying. Stan was a smart cat...maybe he knew that first ride was to a permanent home. (Mom and Dad kept him when Mike and I married...and he lived a long and happy life with them.) |
Okay, the cat's out of the bag. Russ is guilty (not only of hating cats, but) of peeking in on the Girls Only Forum. Stop pussy footin' around, Russ, and tell us, do you really hate yogurt, too? C'mon, don't be a fraidy-cat. Promise that I won't "get my back up" and be a sour-puss about it! :D :D :D

Hi Russ,
As a nurse I just hope you like us people more than you likes cats. :throwtomatoes: |

On yogurt - Strangely I never liked the stuff until earlier this year. Was having some GI issues and my doc said eat some yogurt. I did and now I eat it, and love it, almost every day.
On girl forum peeking: There's a girl only forum? Wouldn't know, I only use the new post search. But I'll peek if you want. |
Right, he specks us to believe he didn't peak! And in what context does he discuss yogurt? Having GI issues!
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. Guilty! Guilty! Guilty! |
:a20:Yup.
|
P - are you using peAk (instead of peek) intentionally? Are you trying to say something? Have you been talking to Mrs. Russ Boston? :)
I now have to do a search on yogurt to see what I've been missing. |

Sparky, 14 hours is nothin'! It took us 6 days to drive from Utah to The Villages with 2 cats in the back of the car. Each had his own cat carrier, plus harness and leash. Baby Monroe (my avatar) started yowling about a mile from our house, and Tommy Boy (he has OCD) snagged on the carrier's zipper pull (ding, ding, ding), and they didn't quit until somewhere around Kansas. We discovered in Kansas that if we fed them McDonald's hamburgers they would get stupid-acting and sleepy and pass out. They loved their burgers - no buns, pickles, ketchup (catsup?), so our first stop every morning was McDonald's drive-through, and we waited an hour or so to start driving again, otherwise the burgers would come back up, just like with kids.
You can do this. Fourteen hours is nothing. |

I think some posters were just wondering why you'd post your cat hate on a serious thread meant for animal lovers about transporting cats. But then we all get bored and get cabin fever, and wander into uncharted territory, myself included. I've even wandered into political and that's a can of worms. Ooops, I didn't exactly mean it like that. |
This is such a funny topic. I hope my husband does not read this post - he will not be encouraged! After we sell our house this Spring, we will too be moving two cats down from Colorado to TV by car. Brother & sister, Dean and Mia, are separated due to fighting. We currently have a extra-large pet gate separating floors of our house to keep them apart. Dean is a maine coon mix, 22 lbs. & Mia is 18 lbs. These "heavy weights" will have the ride of there life. Thank goodness for kitty Prozac!
