Attention Thrift Store Shoppers - yes, some people in The Villages love looking for a bargain. Here is a way to perhaps find some treasures and help animals at the same time. They also accept item donations.

The shelter I adopted from is The Animal League (aka South Lake Animal League). The are located not too far from Leesburg. But they have a thrift store in Clermont located at 770 W. Montrose Street in Downtown Clermont.. If you happen to be going to Clermont, you might want to swing by there. Below is a post from their Facebook page.

One of the The Animal League's most important sources of operating income is its Thrift Shop. All items for sale in the shop are donated by the generous people throughout the community. 100% of proceeds go towards saving homeless dogs and cats.

Thanks, in large part, to the efforts of an energetic and talented group of volunteers, the shop has grown from its original 250 square foot location to its current 4,000 square foot "a fun place to shop" store. Come visit our new shop within a shop, Tootsie’s Treasure Trove, if you are interested in designer brands, fine china and vintage goods at an incredibly fair discounted price! All while supporting the many innocent and abandoned cats and dogs in the current and future care of The Animal League.

You will find clothing for every member of the family, household and baby items, books, toys, games, electronics, furniture, and much more. The shop receives many compliments on its appearance, neatness, cleanliness, and organization. Prices are kept low to facilitate turnover of merchandise. New donations arrive daily and are put out on the shelves and racks for sale.

Donations are accepted Thursday-Saturday, 9:30am-12:30pm for LARGE loads and 9:30am-1:30pm for SMALL loads. We accept clean items such as clothes, kitchen and household items, books, collectibles, and small electrical appliances in working order.
