Never leave your dog along outside. BIG OR SMALL. Keep your dogs on a leash. There are owls, hawks and eagles in TV.

Deer, wolves, foxes and coyotes are much heavier than predatory birds. Here are 7 videos proving that these birds can catch and eat big animals, including your dog or cat.

Last year when I lived in NJ, I was looking out the kitchen window, and saw a Hawk dive bombing towards my mini-dauchshund, I knew that there was no way I could get there in time, I than saw my Lab jump up and run to the dauchshund and cover her, the Hawk flew away and my Lab had steak that night.

I can't bring myself to watch the video's K-9, but I'm glad you've posted them. Many arrive here without the knowledge of predators taking off with small pets. Even a fence enclosed yard offers no guarantee of safety. A friend watched as a coyote hopped the fence, grabbed her little doggie and headed back over the fence. It all happened in the blink of an eye. This was CA, but it could be anywhere. Beasties are hungry, they head to where the "food" is. Better to monitor your pet than to suffer its loss.

Hawks are very common here but on two occasions last week we watched a beautiful eagle circling over our street in Hadley. For certain it was looking for food.
