Thank you and I love you for understanding that. When I get up in the morning, the first thing I do is watch Busty to see his chest expand to know he is still with me. I can see how that might sound strange, but it is what I do every morning and feel such relief when is see the expansion of his chest.

It doesn't sound strange to anyone who has had an older pet. We had a 20-year-old cat. He was more dog than cat in personality. Goofiest, best pet ever. Toward the end I would wake up each day with my heart in my throat.

Finally, well, you know. His quality of life... it was time.

I tell my dogs you need to give me at least 15 years. Yours has given you more.
They get more kisses in a day than I can count.

Whew! After reading all this, I am all choked up. All pet lovers go through those final days one way or another. However, in the scheme of things it is soooo worth it.

I am so glad your pup is still here to make you smile.

Golfingnut, my Duffy would hang his head outside his bed the way Busty did in the picture.

It warms my heart to hear you talk about the love you have for Busty, especially now when he is so in need of care.
