So sorry for your loss. As many others have expressed it can be really tough when we lose a canine companion. A little over three years ago I lost my Hannah, a beautiful black/tan long-haired dachshund, who was also sixteen years old. I rescued her from a shelter when she was only two years old because......her "family" was going to have a baby. I'll never understand how some folks think pets are just expendable on a whim. Anyway, Hannah was my loyal, loving companion for many years and of course I still miss her to this day. I had her cremated, and she now occupies a space on my nightstand where I still say goodnite to her, every night.

I'm very sorry for your loss as well. Our pets bring us such joy and love and their lives are way too short. We said goodbye to our sweet 12 year girl Danny (black lab) in September 2011. It took us a few months (May 2012) to decide to bring another one into our hearts but found one on www.petfinders.com within a couple of days of making the decision to look. I can't tell you what drew us to this one - there were so many that needed homes. She was rescued in Missouri and in a foster home in the town right next to us in Massachusetts. We brought her into our home for a "test" (we have another older dog - wanted to make sure they got along). It was love at first sight! On Monday, we will celebrate the 1 year anniversary of our adopting her. We named her Gracie because she is our gift from God. :-)

Florida Poodle Rescue has poodles for adoption and they are a wonderful group of volunteers who will work with you to find just the right baby for you. Please consider them in your search for a new friend. I adopted a little poodle a year ago and she is our love bug!

A Dog's last Will and Testament
To a poor and lonely stray, I give my happy home, my bowl and cozy bed, soft pillow and all my toys, the lap, which I loved so much, the tender, loving touch, the hand that stroked my fur and sweet voice which called my name. I will to the sad, scared shelter pet, the place I had in my human’s loving heart of which there seemed no bounds. So, when I die, please do not say, “I will never have a pet again, for the loss and pain are more than I stand.” Instead, go find an unloved pet– one whose life has held no joy or hope, and give MY place to HIM. This is the only thing that I can give. The love I left behind. This is my inheritance! My Will and My Last Testament. |
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Losing our beloved pets is so painful. I'm so glad you're looking to get another furbaby. May the next one have as long and as a happy life as your Chloe did.

so so sad
I understand your loss. So sorry.
We just put our 17.5 yr old Sheltie down...miss her so much too and like you the tribute to her is that we will be looking for another dog at some point. |
So very sorry to hear about your loss; what a wonderful life Chloe had with a loving family. You are very kind to open your heart to another doggie, and how very lucky that one will be. I volunteer at a Sanctuary and if and when you are ready, I can share our adoption contacts name with you. Again, please accept my sympathy, dog bless you.

I extend my sympathy to you. I was in your shoes almost one month ago. The fur babies really take hold of your heart. Remember that Chloe is waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. May you find another fur kid to share your life with soon.

Sorry
So sorry for your loss. Many of us know exactly how you feel. When I lost my baby, after some time passed, I found my new baby at this rescue place, not too far from villages:
