Oh my gosh, I couldn't be happier! I've been thinking about Popeye all day. That is such good news. :mademyday:
Please let us know how things go, and maybe post some pictures.

As long as he & my girl Bonyta get along . She gets along with everyone & everything so it shouldn't be a problem!

That is a most wonderful Christmas present for Popeye. And for you and all of us here pulling for you and Popeye.

This is wonderful news! Popeye actually smiles - and I bet he hasn't stopped since he met Mrs. Bosox. Wish I could see him when he meets Ms. Bonyta and the family and yes, perfect time of year, Christmas!!!

What a wonderful story to wake up to.

Looking forward to a photo of Bonyta & Popeye going for a cart ride.

When I was in Italy recently I had just been to Assisi, where st Francis was known to have been a lover of animals. As I tossed a coin into the fountain in Rome, I prayed for the care of all forsaken animals...keep doing good, gang, I love you!

Please let us know how the introduction goes. Bonyta sounds like a great dog., as does Popeye.

Well Popeye is spending his first night in our home. He's really a very sweet and really smart boy He listens well so I hope he will work out. He has tried to dominate Bonyta a few times by jumping on her back but he listens when I tell him to stop. I'm expecting them to be just fine . I'll keep you all updated.

Super! Fingers crossed that it will work out for you.

I have read opinions from dog trainers that it is okay to let the dogs figure out by themselves who will dominate. I don't know if I could do it!

Our dog, who is usually rather submissive, will not let another dog jump up on his back. He puts up with just about everything but that. He's always been able to work it out with another dog amicably. Other times another dog will dominate him. I try not to interfere unless it's going to get too physical.

But you know your dog best. Good luck with the new member of your family.

Bonyta is too old to allow any dog to jump on her hind end.

We are so interested in hearing how things go. I'm sure there will be a few issues while Popeye settles in. But you sound like a very experienced dog person.

I wish you all the very best. Please keep us updated.
