I talked with my friend over the phone this morning. The little dog got through the surgery yesterday and I suggested she look into GoFundMe Get help with vet bills. Raise money for vet bills & pet surgery.

I will tell her to try to get the vet to help out in some way as that is where these bills will be coming from.

She may need some help wording all the Go Fund Me stuff. She did think it would be worth a shot.

She has not been able to get to meet with the owners of the dog that attacked her little pooch about the bills and such.

Of course it's none of my business, but I think the owners of the dog that attacked her little dog should pay the vet bills. Definitely.
I think the lady with the vet bills should be talking to a lawyer.

Except that you do not know when the bills will actually be paid by the owners of the dog that mauled the small dog.

I found this poor pooch which was attacked by a number of dogs. Marco's Vet Bills - Vicious Attack by Alexander Newell - GoFundMe

My friend is trying to work things out with the owners of the attacking dog instead of talking to a lawyer. If they do not help with the vet bills, then she probably will need a lawyer at some future date.

She came to me as someone who knows something about legal forms. I have been helping her draft up a contract not to sue if the couple who own the pooch which severely injured her little dog pay the vet bills. But the vet bills are piling up.

It's compassionate of you to assist the lady with the injured dog.

I have known her for a year and she is a nice woman who it is a pleasure to help. The little dog escaped from the home and a nice neighbor picked it up and roped it in her yard. That's when another neighbor's dog got to it and tore into it like a rag doll. The poor little pooch is quite ripped up near shoulders and hips where the much bigger dog shook it.

Are the owners of the other dog deliberately avoiding her? I hope she has had contact with the police or at least animal control.

Not sure. Animal control I believe picked up the dog that bit her dog or at least took a report.

This is in an area around the Villages with kids allowed like Lady Lake. So many of these neighbors have kids and are busy with them.

Talked to my friend yesterday. The attacking dog is in Quarantine but this was its first reported attack in the County in question. I do not know if the Lake County Animal Control, for instance, would have access to the records of the Marion, Sumter, and other FL County animal controls centers.

The poor little dog had six drains for her wounds but seems to be doing rather well. Even hunting anoles.

The parties are talking it sounds like.

I am glad I caught that little typo yesterday. For anyone who saw it, sssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

As a librarian, I only got to say that a few times while on the reference desk at the U of MN Law Library and the University of Denver. All the other libraries I worked at they encouraged being noisy.

Good luck to my friend over the weekend.

There may be a little hiatus on information about this dog mauling. Should not say any more than that her talks with the owner of the dog which mauled her small pooch never got off the ground.
