The best answer in TV for dog owners is a CYV and putting a dog door in the Lanai and sliding glass door. We have 2 Golden Retrievers and it works well. We never worry about being away from home for extended periods during the day and the dogs come and go (pun intended) as they please. Not that they are left alone regularly for long periods of time, but if we decide at the last minute to go out for dinner or catch a movie, we don't need to worry about coming home to any unwanted carpet adornments or they being left out in the weather.

It's not a perfect solution as dogs will tend to bring surprises back inside with them and if your dog loves the rain and playing in the mud like my female does, well it presents some additional challenges...

I agree that no one should be discouraged from asking a question. However, anyone moving to TV already knows that in the summer the average temp is around 95 degrees during the day with humidity that is almost off the charts. Pair that together with a dog who has a pushed-in face and under the best circumstances, has a breathing problem anyway. I find it unconscionable that someone would even consider leaving this dog or any dog, outside in our summer weather, and I'm not even taking into consideration the almost daily downpours.

Hi Veronica - Welcome to TV

Our Pug Joey does very well at our Village home. We bring him out 1st thing in the morning (around 7-8am) where he stays about 5-10 minutes; then again around 11am and 4-5pm for a few minutes only if we are home; and again around 8-9pm. He always stay in our yard and with someone watching over him. Joey also enjoys late evening golf cart rides. Also remember to pick up your dog's poopy. Let me know if you have other questions about living here with a Pug. Best!
