Default Puppy Mill Dog UPDATE

Here is an update from South Lake Animal League on one of the dogs from the puppy mill shut down.

Update on Tomato - puppy mill dog #4

You may recall our original post on this sweet girl.
Tomato was so afraid of open spaces when we first got her that we had to keep her inside until she could gradually process her new existence outside of a cage where most puppy mill dogs spend their sad lives. WELL, no more cages for this girl! She is still timid and unsure of many things but she now comes to people for pets and her new mom is following puppy mill rehab rules to help her be the dog she was always meant to be. ❤️

That is fantastic! One step at a time and this one is doing so well.

There needs to be strong laws for anyone raising dogs for sale. And harsh sentencing for those that don’t comply. Our little fury one was rescued from a breader before birth. The pregnant mother was put in the home of a volunteer that recognized her distress, took her to her vet, she was then delivered cecerian. The mother a tea cup poodle was apparently bread to a larger dog. There was only one pup and our vet thinks she is half Bichon Frise. At 12 weeks she was already larger than the birth mother. Just one more bad action by a breader.

What South Lake Animal Leagues does is amazing. Just so I don't cause any confusion. I am not a volunteer with their organization. I did adopt two of my dogs through them, though. I do volunteer with a couple of dachshund rescues, though.
