Default Sumter's Walmarts to Host 9th Annual Fill the Van to Help HS/SPCA

Walmart shoppers will again be able to give from their hearts and help animals in need in Sumter County as two of Sumter's Walmart stores will be hosting the 9th Annual Pet Supply Drive/Adoption Day from 10am-2pm out in front of their main entrances. The Villages Walmart Supercenter on Wedgewood Lane will take place on Saturday, March 16th and the Bushnell Walmart Supercenter on CR 48 will be hosting it on Sunday, March 17th. Each location will have the no-kill shelter's adoptable dogs to meet interested adopters along with valuable pet safety information and pet themed fundraising items.

Basic needs are:

- Clumping Cat Litter, Bleach, Laundry & Dish Detergents

- DRY Dog/Cat and Puppy/Kitten Food (preferably Purina O.N.E. brand)

- Paper Towels & Toilet paper

- Dog Dishes (stainless steel), Dog Collars & Leashes (not retractable)

- 13 gal. Kitchen Trash bags & 33 gal. Heavy duty trash bags

- Gift Cards (easiest on everyone's back muscles, less storage issues & items can be purchased in bulk as needed.)

HS/SPCA volunteers will distribute their current "WISH LIST" of basic supplies needed in the daily care of animals at the no-kill shelter. Shoppers can purchase and donate the supplies once they exit the store, stop by and meet some of the many sweethearts ready to find their forever loving families.

The Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill organization helping animals in need throughout Sumter County, Florida. Donations directly help to cover the cost of saving, treating and caring for neglected, abused and abandoned animals. Learn more about the HS/SPCA at hsspca.org, 352-793-9117, on Facebook or visit us at 994 CR 529A, in Lake Panasoffkee. Office open: Mon.-Fri. 7:30am-4:00pm, Sat. 9:00am-4:00pm. Kennel Pet Viewing: Mon.-Sat. 9:00am-3:30pm. Visitors are always welcome!
