Is there really a one dog limit in Orange Blossom?
We're moving to the village of Orange Blossom and in the covenants it says only one dog is allowed. It is too late to back out but we have two great dogs! Does anyone know what the deal is? Is that just an old rule or is it enforced?
thanks |

JB, not sure about Orange Blossom but South of 466, there definitely is a TWO dog limit. However, don't tell anyone...... I didn't... shhhhhhhhhh

JB,
I dont think there is a 1 dog limit. We are in Orange Blossom and have 2 dogs and know many others that have 2 dogs, so I dont see how thats possible. Deed restrictions say 1 dog but i am sure that it doesnt apply any longer.

Fences
Ha, ha. I've seen some pictures of fences around patios on houses for sale.

njgranny.... actually, fences attached to the house to border around a patio area (or something similar to this) are allowed. I purchased in '06 and our covenants do allow this. I've seen several examples of this. Tasteful, maybe 3 foot high, white picket fence. I'm sure any such design would be required to go thru the deed compliance office. So, despite all the talk about "no fence" it is not an absolute NO. Granted, you cannot construct a fence around your entire property for all the reasons that have been discussed on this site, but, these small fenced areas could be a solution for small dogs.
I've never heard any discussion on the process to change the covenants...they are different all over TV.

Wow! That would be great. If anyone can give me examples of a "look" that seems to be OK, please let me know. I don't care if it is a small area. It is better than a tie-out for the dogs.

JB,
I am in the Orange Blossom/CC Hills area and unfortunately I have never seen a fenced in area for dogs in the neighborhoods. I have seen fences around very small patio areas with concrete floors but never in the grassy back or front yards. I feel the same as you do and would love to be able to open my door and just let them out to run a little, but I honestly have not seen this done anywhere on the historic side. I think the courtyard villas are the best choice if this is the set up you want for your dogs. Most of my neighbors take their doggies for walks or to the new doggie park on the Historic side.
